POE 3.0 Ranger Build Fire & Ice - Katana Frost Blades + Molten Strike! High clear speed + single target.

Fire & Ice by Hotslice

In 3.0 I am playing life-based Scion(Ascendant) Assassin/Raider for the charge generation, bonus crit, and 5(!) free passive points. Also gives easy access to Scion Life Loaf and a bunch of free resistances to make gearing easy. I championed Alira to help with mana and get a bunch more free resist. So my gear really doesn't need much resist at all and I can focus on just getting HP + damage. Great for beta and great for early league budget!

To start I pathed down from Scion into the left side of Duelist, then through to the rest of the passive tree. I took Assassin in Cruel lab, Raider in Merciless lab, and Path of the Ranger in Uber lab.

Leveling weapons were Wideswing -> Geofri's Baptism -> Rigwald's Charge -> Terminus Est.

The build feels great. Clear speed is destroying everything and with the Molten Strike I'm having no troubles with the buffed boss HP in 3.0. I have 6300 HP now and hope to push to 7k.

Here's the ideal passive tree I'm thinking for a level 100:

For perfect endgame gear you could either use a rare Exquisite Blade with a Lioneye's Vision chest (I think the Pierce Support is pretty good for Frost Blades now), or 2x Exquisite Blades and weapon swap between them, so you can use a Kaom's Heart chest. Wearing Kaom's Roots with +1 Frenzy for big phat life and immunities.

Here's a quick Atziri kill on Beta Wave 4. I am using a 5L Terminus Est and a crappy corrupted 6L chest. I don't have any sources of +projectiles for Molten Strike yet, and am missing 4 passive points because of missing Beta acts. But it's still plenty of DPS to delete Atziri easily.

Edit: Crafted a sexy rare sword and moved to Lioneye's Vision chest. Here is a nasty Shaped Strand with the new setup:

How to Open Your Poe Mystery Boxes?

How to Open Your Mystery Boxes After purchasing some Stormcaller Mystery Boxes, you can find them in your microtransaction stash in-game waiting to be unwrapped. Note that these Mystery Boxes have random outcomes. Some items are rarer than others. You are guaranteed to get an item that is worth at least what you paid for it (30 points) and it's statistically more likely that you'll receive something of higher value. In this box, the most common item is a Regular Stash Tab. Path of exile've just released the Stormcaller Mystery Box which will be on sale until the end of the Breach Challenge League. Each box grants you one random Stormcaller-themed microtransaction, with value equal to at least that of the box (30 points). There are 36 awesome prizes to win including two armour sets, a new back attachment and other new effects! Check out this video compilation of all the microtransactions contained in the Stormcaller Mystery Box! Existing Microtransactions in the Box: ...

Path of Exile: Improve Exalted Orbs Drop Rate

One of the important reasons why ARPG like PoE attract players is that a lot of experience and rewards are enough to drive players to explore in the game. Many players are very interested in how to increase the drop rate of currency and equipment. Some people may be annoyed that PoE Exalted Orbs is not enough. After reading this article, think about it again. Exalted Orbs can drop randomly from mobs, chests, etc. from practically any zone; I don't believe they are limited to maps or other higher-tier zones. The simplest way of increasing your chances to see an Exalted Orb drop is to kill more mobs, open more chests, and turn over more rocks. You can also get Exalted orbs from certain Divination Cards, including Abandoned Wealth which drops in Arsenal and Vault maps, and The Hoarder which can drop in The Belly of the Beast level 1 and 2, The Harvest, and the Vault map. Farming those locations may ostensibly increase your chances. I suppose it's also possible to get...

Path of Exile: Ramble about Endurance Charges

In poe, every day, players from all over the world play in it. Many players choose to share their anecdotes and experiences in the game, so today I want to talk about a thing that is rarely noticed. Both Frenzy and Power charges have plentiful ways to keep them up. So much so that even skills that eat them such as Flicker Strike (Frenzy) or Cold Snap (Power) are easily able to manage them (Cold Snap not being in a good place atm has nothing to do with its charge requirements). But what of Endurance Charges? Well, as Tectonic Slam has recently showcased, the moment endurance charge generation is stressed it just quickly falls apart. Even Juggs struggle to keep T.Slam always at max coverage (and anyone who imagined a Chieftain could keep it up was quickly disabused of that idea). The other specific Endurance-consuming skill in the game - Vigilant Strike - is barely seen (sure it's namelock, but that's not the only reason it doesn't get used). What's more, the met...
