PoE 3.3 Freezing Cyclone Slayer Build

3.3 Changes
Nothing core continues to be altered but there are several changes to some couple of existing support gems we use which are nice. Also, newer and more effective ones that may get this to builds damage even greater.

The Story

I'd the concept with this build after playing some of the popular cyclone builds in 3.0 Harbinger(mainly Ngamahu's flame/Ahfack's Crimson Cyclone) to see things i loved and disliked about the subject. The Ngamahu's flame builds, while very good, did not sense just like a 'cyclone' build but much more of a magma ball build. Ahfack's Crimson Cyclone build was my personal favorite before one and that I really don't have any dislikes. After playing an actual build for such a long time I needed to possess a similarly hard-hitting build but getting as near to 100% elemental damage when I could manage.

After searching at the different choices and passives easily become on routes I needed to consider, I chose cold damage. The thought of Cycloning via a pack and watching them shatter to dust when I passed sounded pretty fun and so I began building upon that concept.

I will eventually do Hall of Grandmasters and Uber Elder but they are not high on my list of things to do



Pro's & Con's

+ Fast clear speed.
+ Easy League start and scales well as you gain currency.
+ Cyclone kills as you move, no stopping.
+ Frozen things can't hit you.
+ Melee build, see their frozen faces before they shatter.
+ Immune to Stun and Bleed.
+ 3c budget gets you farming maps.
+ No mirror tier or Headhunter required.
+ No corpses left behind to be raised/detonated.
+ Insane leech with VP and Slayer Ascendancy.

- Melee build, gotta get up close and personal
- Min/max End game items will be expensive but not unobtainable.
- Requires one specific unique which makes SSF hard to go full cold.
- Not a face tank build, requires dodging mechanics(a pro me personally)

Playstyle

Zone into the map, hit a quicksilver flask then spin to win when a pack is near. Elemental reflect is not a factor we need to bother about so causes it to be even simpler.

With bosses, drop totem and employ flasks Vaal haste when you are able. As always with Cyclone make certain not to lock yourself into the animation whenever a boss does something particularly nasty. Once they make a move nasty, LEAP you fool! Then leap to get Fortify. If you're a work hard you are able to leap to maintain Fortify.

Enchants/Corruptions

Helm: Cyclone attack speed - Cyclone Damage - Ancestral Protector added attack speed or Ancestral Warchief added damage - Frostbite increased the effect

I favor a Cyclone specific one since it does not require me to decrease a totem constantly. Totem/Frostbite have to do with equality. Frostbite most likely best throughout for leveling with Cyclone Attack Speed - Damage the finish goal.

If you use a watcher's eye to achieve 100% cold conversion, Frostbite enchants will beat out a cyclone enchant.

Weapon: +2 Range corruption

Gloves: +1 socketed gems corruption for aura setup or Commandment of Force.

Boots: Attack speed if killed recently is the best Lab enchant for 99% of things. Any boss that doesn't pop adds out enough you can use a Writhing Jar.



+1 Max frenzy corruption best overall but requires keeping up frenzy charges.

Amulet: Additional Curse corruption. Used with either enfeeble for damage reduction or Ele weakness/Punishment for more damage.

Levelilng up ~ Ascendancy ~ Bandits

All tree's are 3.3 updated. I will be rerunning 1-85 when I do the budget run to make sure the trees are appropriate for a league start.

Speed demon!

Reduced life but max craze charges and attack speed for fastest leap slams we are able to get with Hrimburns. I have been building towards this in Pokemon league and it is been a great time.

Ascendancy
Head towards Brutal Fervour first and then Headsman.

Bandits
Kill them all

Tips for Leveling

Use anything you want until cyclone is available. I use cleave personally but anything works.

Getting Spirit void can make Cyclone feel much smoother but cyclone will still Eat your mana in early stages. If you do not seem like chugging mana flasks using Mana Leech Support will solve it. If you're getting mana difficulties with Hate/Frostbite using Herald of Ice/Frostbite will give you lots of mana not to go out during single target cycling. Lower damage although not that big an offer overall.

Later on, you will not need Spirit void to sustain mana during single target cyclone. It is just useful for leveling.

Using Brute Pressure Solution jewel will require proper care of any Int problems you've while leveling. Placing it within the socket right alongside Golem's Bloodstream can give 50 int whatever is around the jewel.

At lvl 51 I recommend obtaining Terminus Est. The movement speed alone can make everything just feel good... also it features a lot of raw physical damage.

At lvl 64 you'll be able to make use of Kondo's Pride or Hezmana's Bloodlust. Either of these is okay but Kondo's is much better damage wise. Using Hezmana's helps you save getting to regret points afterward.

When you purchase Hezmana's after that you can regret the Spirit void if you wish to release points.

Because the build is really a 90% cold conversion construct it means running elemental reflect maps technically is not doable. However, the only real factor causing us to be elemental is a set of mitts and a pair of points. If you're cheap like I'm after I roll an elemental reflect map I simply throw it right into a tab with every other elemental reflect maps.
