10 Path of exile path 2.6 FAQ

1) Is there a possibility to put a certain color of socket into an Item or is all that up to luck?
Use a Chromatic Orb to change the colors of an item's sockets randomly. Once you recruit Vorici into your hideout, you will also gain access to a crafting table which allows you to select which colors you want.

2) In my Skill tree I found a "Jewel Socket" passive. What is that for and is it worth getting?
You can put a special type of item called a jewel in there. Jewels come in magic, rare, and unique variants and can have all sorts of modifiers, so you can use the passive point to get various benefits suited to your character. Whether it's worth it depends on whether you have a good jewel to socket in it.
You get a unique jewel as a reward for a quest in Act 2 by the way.

3) There's Maligaro's Spike in my inventory which I can neither use nor sell. If it's a quest item, do I have to carry it around or may I put it into my stash?
Yes, it's a quest item. Keep it with you, you will need it for a later quest.

4) Also, can change which Skill is bound to wich mouse/keyboard button? I tried taking gems out and socketing them back in, but that doesn't seem to work.
You can change which buttons the slots are bound to in the options menu. Left-click a slot in the bottom right to assign a specific skill to that slot.

5) change path of exile account email
poe no longer have access to your email address. In this situation, poe may be able to manually change the email address associated with your account. If you contact support@grindinggear.com one of poe team will take you through some verification questions. :)

6) login with and without steam possible?
You need to contact Support directly and have them convert your account into a "classic" account linked to Steam. As it is now, it's only accessible through Steam.
Just send a private message to the Support account (while signed into your Steam account here), or send an email to the support department at the address in the Contact Support link at the top of the page and they can help you with that.

7) What do I have to do in the breach summoned by breach leaguestones? Kill all the monsters? Or mayba the hands that spawn inside of it?
The more monsters you kill the longer the breach stays open.

8) I got two Skill Refund Points early in the game. Will I get more later on or do I have to spend those two wisely to not have to buy new ones?
You will get a bunch more of them from further quests, and you can also use Orbs of Regret to get more refund points. You will get a bunch more of them from further quests, and you can also use Orbs of Regret to get more refund points.

9) I keep getting numerous kinds of orbs to enhance the quality and stats of items. May I use them already (I'm at level 22) or should I save them up for later to use them on gear where it really counts?
If this is your first character, feel free to use some to get a feel for the crafting system. As you get more experience you will probably want to save them for end-game items though.

Path of Exile: Improve Exalted Orbs Drop Rate

One of the important reasons why ARPG like PoE attract players is that a lot of experience and rewards are enough to drive players to explore in the game. Many players are very interested in how to increase the drop rate of currency and equipment. Some people may be annoyed that PoE Exalted Orbs is not enough. After reading this article, think about it again. Exalted Orbs can drop randomly from mobs, chests, etc. from practically any zone; I don't believe they are limited to maps or other higher-tier zones. The simplest way of increasing your chances to see an Exalted Orb drop is to kill more mobs, open more chests, and turn over more rocks. You can also get Exalted orbs from certain Divination Cards, including Abandoned Wealth which drops in Arsenal and Vault maps, and The Hoarder which can drop in The Belly of the Beast level 1 and 2, The Harvest, and the Vault map. Farming those locations may ostensibly increase your chances. I suppose it's also possible to get...

Path of Exile: Ramble about Endurance Charges

In poe, every day, players from all over the world play in it. Many players choose to share their anecdotes and experiences in the game, so today I want to talk about a thing that is rarely noticed. Both Frenzy and Power charges have plentiful ways to keep them up. So much so that even skills that eat them such as Flicker Strike (Frenzy) or Cold Snap (Power) are easily able to manage them (Cold Snap not being in a good place atm has nothing to do with its charge requirements). But what of Endurance Charges? Well, as Tectonic Slam has recently showcased, the moment endurance charge generation is stressed it just quickly falls apart. Even Juggs struggle to keep T.Slam always at max coverage (and anyone who imagined a Chieftain could keep it up was quickly disabused of that idea). The other specific Endurance-consuming skill in the game - Vigilant Strike - is barely seen (sure it's namelock, but that's not the only reason it doesn't get used). What's more, the met...
